Helping Heroes Hunt really is Helping Heroes Hunt!
Helping Heroes Hunt recently hosted this group of veterans (pictured alongside our guides) at Heroes Ranch. A weekend full of hunting, fishing and camaraderie was had by all. 100% of all donations to Helping Heroes Hunt will be used to sponsor a Hero and their family. More information can be found at www.helpingheroeshunt.org.
Black Girls RUN? Yes, we do!
There is a huge misconception that black women do not run. In an effort to dispel this myth and tackle the growing obesity epidemic in the African American community, Black Girls RUN! Foundation was created as the philanthropic arm to the national organization (Black Girls RUN!) to support our local community footprint, training programs, funding, and resources. Since our founding in 2018, the Black Girls RUN! Foundation has been helping women get healthier through the sport of running.
Confidence Through Instruction
Junior Wai Koa (pronounced “why–co–uh” and Hawaiian for “water warrior”) is a Live Water Foundation pillar program that allows us to provide an unforgettable summer camp experience for historically underserved children through a partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Annapolis (HACA). Twice a week for six weeks, we facilitate stand up paddle board lessons and Chesapeake Bay restoration-centered educational experiences for youth who live in HACA communities, both of which serve to strengthen and solidify their connection to the watershed.
Kimberly Malan's Story
Special Olympics has had a HUGE impact on my life.
Over the past 23 years, I have grown as an athlete. Special Olympics offers a variety of
sports to participate in. My first sport I competed in was softball - I LOVE baseball so
this was great. Then I was offered to play basketball and loved it. I never thought I’d
enjoy being out in the cold and snow until I began snowshoeing. Next I decided to try
track and field. The best part of Special Olympics is they have many different sports
Spirit of Camp Hobe'
Camp Hobe' gives our campers a place to just be kids and bond with others going through similar experiences. Whether they are a patient or a healthy siblings, all our campers get individual attention. Don't take my word for it! Here's what our campers have to say about their experiences this summer:
* There are amazing people here! I love talking to kids who have gone through the same things as me. I love Camp Hobe' staff for their love of us. I'm looking forward to coming next year.
