The Power of Sports
Before I found Special Olympics North Carolina, I was not happy. I was in a dark place. I did not feel like I belonged. That’s the case for so many people with intellectual disabilities around the world.
Since 1968, Special Olympics has used the power of sports to change the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Suddenly, individuals who have been told they cannot for most of their lives find a place where they are told they can. They can train and compete in sports. They can be more confident. They have friends, jobs, families. They can be just like everybody else.
Help more athletes experience the power of sports through Special Olympics.
