"I’m Skip Chaples, President of Music for Life. We all face challenges in reaching our potential. But not everyone has a fair chance to overcome them; inequalities in society favor some over others. Too often, family heritage or means influences whether or not a child reaches their potential. COVID-19 has exacerbated these inequalities.
Music for Life operates throughout the DC area. Providing free music education programs to help youth impacted by inequality reach their potential; serving over 800 annually. Research has proven music education’s value in the academic, social and emotional development of youth. Despite this proven value, opportunity and accessibility continue to decline. Budget considerations limit school programs; more of the cost is imposed on the family.
Please visit our website for more information about the problem we address, services provided and how you can be part of the solution. Thank you for your time and interest in ensuring all youth have a fair chance to reach their potential."
